We’re opening the position of a Senior Data Engineer (Python) to join the R&D Department Team of our Client – a globally recognized market leader in manufacturing across the food, feed, and mobility sectors. The company specializes in developing cutting-edge technologies and producing process solutions for these industries. Leveraging digitalization, it enhances the efficiency of industrial processes by enabling real-time monitoring, analysis, and optimization across the entire production value chain.

In this role, you will work remotely with the R&D Department, based at company headquarters in Switzerland, within the team focused on consolidating and modernizing the core machine automation platform for the company’s food processing machines. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-impact, technology-driven initiative within a globally respected organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on solution-based, outcome-oriented projects with a highly skilled team
  • Build modern, cloud-based data solutions
  • Implement data solutions on streaming platforms using the latest cloud and big data technologies
  • Work closely in partnership with Architect and Product teams to leverage and access available data architecture
  • Perform all data preparation and exploratory data analysis steps
  • Manage and execute all aspects of analytic initiatives, including developing project plans and collaborating with others
  • Read and review data documentation to understand Data Models and SQL queries

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or a related field
  • Programming skills in Python
  • Hands-on experience analyzing and building secure, scalable, and flexible enterprise data projects
  • Cloud data warehousing or ETL experience designing and developing enterprise data workflows
  • Knowledge of Azure Data Factory (ADF)
  • Familiarity with designing data structures and models for a microservices environment, data lake, and cloud data warehouses
  • Experience with Data Governance concepts and execution
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure SQL Database (Azure SQL) and Cosmos DB
  • Skills with Azure Data Lake technology and Azure Data Explorer
  • Experience in Agile software development
  • English level – Upper-Intermediate or higher

Will be a plus:

  • Knowledge of SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) and Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Experience with Spark
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Knowledge of NoSQL
  • Big Data knowledge
